A new wave in frame design arrived in the love summer of 1967 and quite soon the short lived compact style of the mid 1960's was forgotten. Frames got larger and larger, eventually culminating in the giant frames from the mid 1970's. It was fascinating to follow the latest trends in the shops and in the streets.
There was some development in the lenses as well. The pair shown here by lovely Nicci is among the earliest glasses with tinted lenses in my collection. It's not easy to take satisfactory pictures of models wearing these Flirt glasses. Effective anti-reflective coating on lenses only started to emerge during the late 1970's.
