Nel sings in a theater choir and the theme for their annual concert - which took place in an abandoned factory - was "work in the old days". The ladies in the choir agreed to appear in styles of the 1950's and 1970's. I supplied prescription cat eye glasses for a couple of singers. Nel appeared in a blue dress that was used by her mother during the 1970's but she wisely decided to wear modern glasses - the giant glasses from the 1970's in my collection were simply too much weight on her nose for use during the long concert. There is a nice touch of the "Op Art" style in these black and white Zenni glasses so Nel was not out of sync with the other singers. I took a dozen portraits of the other ladies after the concert but they were a bit shy about the idea of having them posted on a weblog and needless to say, I respected their choice.

After an orange phase unrelated to football or patriotism, my life partner Nel recently acquired some pink outfits. Needless to say, her next question was "Do you have any pink glasses in your collection?". There were a few but these did not match too well. So I ordered this pink pair by Zenni, fitted with single lenses for computer distance. In and around the house, Nel sometimes prefers to use glasses with this Rx. Her first comment after trying these pink glasses was "These fit perfectly and I like my looks in them". The arrival of the pink glasses was a fine occasion to take some pictures - it was high time to show the First Lady of the weblog again after her latest photo shoot in November, 2012 (second weblog).
