In 1976, Christian Dior was the first haute couture house with a glasses line of their own. During the 1980's, their example was followed by several other haute couture houses and Yves St. Laurent was one of them. No doubt, this decision was inspired by the massive success of the Dior glasses line. However, none of the competitors came close to the prolific production by Dior. My collection hosts over forty Dior glasses and only two pairs by St. Laurent. A great pity, given the beauty of the glasses shown here to great effect by Iris.
