Upon first sight, the straight bar looks like an obstacle for the wearer of these retro glasses. However, several young ladies sporting these glasses fifteen years ago assured me that they were not bothered by the straight bar. The glasses shown here by Iris were kindly sent to me by a young lady called Sylvia, from the Leipzig area in Germany. Sylvia had increase after increase so all her old glasses were of no use to her anymore but she wisely chose to give them away rather than to throw them out. She sent me four pairs and the final pair had lenses of minus five.
The slightly enigmatic look in this portrait is great so I threw in an additional bit of editing to put an extra accent on the posing.
