These "Toxy" glasses by Rodenstock were among the first examples of a new wave in fashion that put an end to a decade dominated by cat eye glasses. Beatlemania had arrived and soon everything was different. My collection hosts a dozen glasses in the characteristic style of the mid 1960's and Iris tried several pairs. However, our conclusion was that most of the small, compact frames simply did not suit her. This "Toxy" pair was the only exception. The glasses were given to me in 1996 by a lady who had kept all her old glasses since the early 1960's.
