The vast majority of pince-nez offered by antique shops are fitted with lenses for reading and the same goes for the dozen pince-nez in my collection. Bonnie has +2.25 astigmatism but she could see fairly well through the lenses which are both +4.00. The reason is that one lens came fairly close to her spherical prescription (+3.25) and the other lens was close to the sum of her spherical plus cylinder prescription (2.25 + 2.25).
With this in mind, I selected this example of the pince-nez for the photo shoot with Bonnie. Again, the image of the wall can be seen through the right lens. This pince-nez was not used in any of my previous photo shoots.
