Monique 027

Though modern, these black Zenni glasses have a nice touch of a style that was popular during the second half of the 1960's. The main difference is that this modern pair is a little bit larger. Another difference is that black glasses were considered "for brunettes only" by opticians and their clients in the 1960's. Woe the blonde that dared crossing the line and go for brown or black glasses in those days.... A beautiful class mate of mine called Anje crossed that line and I well remember the negative remarks she received from her peer group. It's a good thing that this rigid approach has long become a thing of the past. I like this "en face" portrait for the natural, neutral expression and the credible eye contact. Again, there is no way of telling that these are not Monique's own glasses.
