Maria 033

As far as I remember, the Dior glasses shown here by Maria were no part of the small collection that conquered the world in 1976. However, they clearly belong to the same style so my guess is that they were made during the following year. The frame is high and narrow which reduces the choice of suitable vantage points. To take this portrait, your photographer installed himself on the ground, assuring his lovely model that he was looking at her face and not under her skirt. Nevertheless, one thumb rule in portrait photography was abandoned and this had to do with the forbidden peep into the nose. Models are sometimes surprised about my unorthodox choice of vantage points but it's always dictated by the shape of the frames. The Dior glasses gave Maria good eyesight as the lenses are only a touch above her own mild prescription.
