Mirjam 129

Earlier in this documentary, I wrote about the Rodenstock company from Germany and its way of giving names to their glasses. The pair shown here to great effect by Mirjam has a girl's name (Celia) but the style indicates that these glasses was made in the 1980's rather than the 1970's. If so, this would mean that Rodenstock had an overlap between their phase of "a girl's name for every new frame" and the start of their " Lady" and "Young Look" frames. A request to the company to supply a year of manufacture to some of the 200 Rodenstock glasses in my collection received a friendly reply but headquarters had other priorities and so the mystery remains....
