These nameless red cat eye glasses have been in my collection for ages but I can't remember where they were acquired. In the Netherlands, this style was often seen between 1959 and 1962. However, the style remained popular among elderly ladies in England and Ireland until at least the 1970's. The famous Kerry fiddle player Julia Clifford can be seen in a video clip on You Tube sporting the very same cat eye glasses during a gig in 1972. The glasses were featured in an early photo shoot (Irma 016), followed by mother Miriam in 2012 and four Irish models in 2013 (Bonnie 175, Colleen 037, Lydia 078, Abeer - aka Katie - 064). Here lovely Jade is showing that wearing cat eye glasses can be fun indeed. Great!
