Over forty years ago, these Algha glasses were bought by a girl from Hamburg who subsequently settled in the Netherlands. She once told me that the glasses were prescribed to her as a cure against frequent headaches. I called them her hippie glasses but she replied that she had never been a hippie in her life. The prescription being very minimal, she only used the glasses for a year or two and then went on without any glasses until the onset of presbyopia at the age of forty.
Frames like these were quite popular among left wing students in the early 1970's. This photo is edited in black and white because of the sweet nostalgia in the story. Jade is only the fourth model posing in these glasses, being preceded by Hiska (099) and more recently by two models in Sweden (Maria 022, Jennifer 057). Like Jade, none of these models needed glasses when they posed for me.
