My collection hosts some fifty glasses by the great Christian Dior who took the stage by storm when they started their highly innovative frame design in 1976. It was a revolution never seen before or afterwards. I was working in Switzerland at the time and witnessed the shock wave. Swiss ladies were always on the conservative side in their choice of eyewear, especially in comparison with my native Amsterdam. Within weeks, the streets of Lausanne and other cities in the area were filled with beautiful ladies sporting the new Christian Dior glasses. The pair shown here by Cat was made some eight years later when the trend in eyewear fashion shifted towards subtle refinement. Note the tilt in what you see through the lower part of the progressive lens.
