Sonia's own aviator glasses are a modern replica of the style that came to prominence in the early 1970's. The style was quite popular among men but quite a few young women including my former girlfriend Ria - sported them as well. Aviators were invariably metal frames. I can't remember any sightings of girls in plastic aviator frames. And then there was Zenni in 2010, two decades after the style had disappeared from the streets.... The PD range for this frame was 65 - 77, too wide for Sonia. This is visible here, especially in the lower portrait. Still, in my opinion the effect is not disturbing. A thumb rule in frame choice is that the glasses have to be complementary to the face of the wearer.
