The name Givenchy first came to my attention in 1974 or 1975 when a student called Irene surprised us all by showing up in an extravagant pair of orange glasses. I knew her well and she had always been a bit conservative in her choice of glasses. Needless to say, I paid her a big compliment. Irene then told me that the glasses were made by Givenchy and that they were quite expensive. She took off the glasses and showed me the brand name on the massive arms of the frame. It was nice to see her transformation. Irene had a mild prescription but she went full time as she really liked the Givenchy style. The frame shown here by Cat is identical to Irene's glasses, except for the colour.
