Three weeks after the newspaper interview about her eyesight and eyewear, the celebrated young Lady of the Tower appeared on the bridge, sporting a face à main instead of her pince-nez. There was little public debate about the tower anymore. Acceptance - or at least some tolerance - had set in. The public interest was now shifting towards the up coming World's Fair in general. But the young Lady of the Tower was still surrounded by many photographers who had become addicted to her because of her extraordinary beauty.
