Sonia 030
It was a real pleasure to walk the Jardin des Tuileries with Sonia and her brother Helder. For once, there was no need to search for suitable locations. There were plenty of them and besides, I felt quite comfortable in the company of two Paris guides. The atmosphere was relaxed and this also had to do with the absence of big crowds. It was interesting to see the contrast between the Louvre and the Tuileries. The entrance of the Louvre was guarded by security people but also by soldiers with rifles. The first buses packed with tourists from Japan were reappearing at the Louvre. By contrast, the Tuileries were nice and quiet. In other words, an ideal location for a walk, good talks and several stops to take pictures.
The only problem for Sonia was where to leave her own aviator glasses.... Often she would pass them to our loyal assistant Helder, but here she decided to use the top of her head as a safe parking lot. This was also instrumental for the photos, showing the immense contrast between contemporary (although vintage inspired) Sambamania and classic Christian Dior glasses from the 1970's.
