The first owner of these Rodenstock glasses was a blonde and she received many critic remarks on her choice of this black frame. Rules regarding frame choice were strict in the early and mid 1960's. Black glasses were considered suitable for brunettes but not for blondes. My guess is that Anna might have got away with this frame choice if she had been around at the time and of course, if she had been in need of glasses.
