Giant frames like this did not arrive suddenly. The trend for larger frames started in the love summer of 1967 (flower power) and it eventually culminated in the giant frames of 1975. Nowadays we would call these glasses "too large" but they were really quite fashionable forty years ago. I still regard it a privilege having been part of the 1960's and 1970's. The changes in music and fashion were unbelievable.
