Farishta 777
This fine portrait of Farishta with another captivating smile marks the end of this photo shoot - or shall I say, the first half of the photo shoot? Time went fast and I was slower than usual due to an injury to my left hand. Farishta asked me to keep the unused glasses apart so that we could take up the photo shoot again soon. It will be my pleasure and honour, Farishta! No eulogy this time, I will keep that for the next part of the photo shoot, except for one phrase that says it all: "You have lost none of your modelling qualities and you are still the gem you were when we first met". To be continued soon!
Farishta 775 - 776
Lovely Farishta showing the mighty power rings in the final pair of Zenni glasses used during this photo shoot. Again, it's a frame that she liked very much. The glasses are fitted with lenses for computer use by my life partner Nel but she chose two different frames so this pair ended up in my collection.

Farishta 773
Another fine portrait of Farishta in red Zenni glasses with a touch of the cat eye style, Rx minus twelve. What I like here is the impression of a squint, suggesting that she might need a small increase. In reality, the glasses are twice as strong as the model's prescription.
Farishta 772
Farishta showing a different pair of red Zenni glasses, with a touch of the cat eye style. This frame is also available in brown and both versions are quite popular among my models. This red version was bought for my partner Nel after a slight increase in her prescription, to test if she would benefit from it when driving her car at night. Nel soon found out that the new prescription was better and I subsequently ordered a couple of different Zenni glasses, fitted with progressive lenses by ciliaryblue. Nel then gave me this red pair for use at photo shoots. Here Farishta clearly demonstrates that there is nothing wrong with the looks of a young lady in glasses with lenses of minus twelve.
Farishta 769 - 770
Another couple of fine portraits of lovely Farishta in red glasses by Zenni, Rx minus eight. Her sweet smile could make an iceberg melt!
Farishta 767 - 768
These dark red Zenni glasses were first featured two years ago in my photo shoot with Daisy, a red haired freelance model in Flanders. Farishta liked the frame so she gave the glasses a go and she was absolutely right. Unfortunately, the frame is no longer available in red, only in white.

Farishta 765
Excellent posing by Farishta in giant glasses made by Zenni. The trick with the pony tail does miracles to portraits showing large glasses like this. Another great match!
Farishta 764
Farishta showing another pair of giant Zenni glasses, often used as sunglasses by their customers. The white decoration at the sides of the front is nice and playful. The frame is also available in red and that version was used in many previous photo shoots (e.g. mother and daughter Juliana).
Farishta 762
Fine posing by Farishta in another remarkable pair of large Zenni glasses. The style is very reminiscent of the giant frames that were popular during the mid 1970's. The frame was only in catalog for a few months and then disappeared, never to return again. A pity!
Farishta 760
This is my favourite photo of Farishta posing in transparent white Zenni glasses and arguably one of the best photos of the entire photo shoot. Thank you so much, Farishta! This series came out quite well because the sun had disappeared behind thick clouds, enabling me to choose vantage points like this.
Farishta 757 - 759
Excellent posing by Farishta in a pair of Zenni glasses ordered especially for this photo shoot. The frame comes in three colours: red, purple and this transparent white. The red and the purple versions were bought several years ago, fitted with -8.00 lenses, and they were used to great effect in many photo shoots. Zenni often throws in an eccentric twist and here it is the shape of the arms. The transparent white version was ordered with -6.00 lenses so Farishta enjoyed perfect eyesight.
Farishta 754 - 755
Two more photos of Farishta in cat eye glasses by Zenni, showing that she has lost none of her posing abilities since our first photo shoots in 2009 / 2010.
Farishta 753
Changing light conditions on the university campus forced us to change the location slightly. A focus zoom effect was added during the editing process to put extra emphasis on the fine "pensive mood" posing.
Farishta 752
Farishta posing in another fine pair of cat eye glasses by Zenni. My collection used to host dozens of vintage cat eye glasses made over fifty years ago but the old, primitive plastic of those frames started to crumble at the nose bridges and many of these frames are now broken beyond repair. So the new choice of cat eye glasses by Zenni are a fine substitution.
Farishta 750 - 751
Glasses: Zenni 626325
[L=R: -8.00]
A black and white version of this portrait is added for a bit of nostalgia. All amateur photography was done in black and white during the heyday of the cat eye glasses (c. 1955 - 1963) so why not?
Farishta 749
Another fine portrait of Farishta posing in striking black and white glasses by Zenni. She clearly was not bothered by the strength of the lenses which is twice her own prescription of minus six. During her second photo shoot in 2010, Farishta delivered a number of great, natural portraits in myodisc glasses with lenses above minus twenty so she was on safe ground here, posing in minus twelve.
Farishta 748
These striking black and white frame first appeared in the Zenni catalog in 2012. Given the terminal condition of my beloved brother Guus it was a year with only a handful of photo shoots. However, my partner Nel posed for me on two occasions and when she saw this Zenni frame, she was all go to give it a try. I ordered the purple version fitted with -8.00 lenses and this black version fitted with Nel's prescription for long distance. Nel liked the purple version but she did not choose it as she already had a fine pair of Zenni glasses. After some deliberation she decided to go for the black and white version although she doubted if it would suit her pale skin. In fact, the black glasses worked out great until they broke, shortly before our holidays in Scotland. I ordered the purple version for Nel (just the frame) as her own purple glasses went missing in February. A friendly optician around the corner switched the lenses from the black frame into the purple frame without charging any cost. Farishta is here posing in the black and white version , showing the touch of myodisc in the lenses. Zenni did this bit of extra work on the lenses - without charging anything extra - so that the glasses could be folded up neatly for their journey to Holland. Great!
Farishta 746
Another sweet portrait of lovely Farishta posing in large, airy glasses made by Zenni. When my partner Nel first saw this pair, she could not believe that the glasses were brand new: "They look exactly like the glasses I used to wear in the 1970's!". Over the past few years, Zenni has expanded their frame scope, catering for all the styles that were "en vogue" since the 1950's. This beautiful green frame is now out of stock and I can only hope that Zenni will bring it back into their catalog. It certainly is a frame that suits both blondes and brunette models quite well.
Farishta 745
When Farishta discovered these large Zenni glasses in the shoe box, she suggested that posing in the style of the 1970's might work out better if she tied her long hair in a pony tail. Good idea, Farishta! Aside from the attempt to "make the glasses speak", it's always nice to put a bit of variation into a photo shoot. Last year, two young models in Ireland appeared on the shoot in the company of their mothers and in both cases it was the mother who suggested the "pony tail switch" to bring some variation. I always invite new models to bring an escort if it makes them feel more at ease. Surprisingly few models go for this option. When it happened, the escort was always helpful and friendly - and often a benefit to the outcome of the photo shoot.
Farishta 743
Lovely, sweet posing by Farishta in black cat eye glasses by Zenni. The lenses are progressives, minus nine. The glasses were a reject by a model with a substantial PD asymmetry who somehow did not tolerate the lenses. I ordered the same pair in tortoise shell with the PD asymmetry the other way round but this did not work either so she gave me back both pairs. This is the only occasion so far. All previous models said that their glasses were absolutely perfect. The unfortunate model in question uses contact lenses in daily life and she is now quite happy with a pair of non prescription "dégradé" sunglasses, again with the same cat eye frame. Farishta really loved the frame and I love her happy way of posing.
Farishta 742
These cat eye glasses were launched by Zenni three years ago and the frame has been a favourite among my models ever since. The cat eye style is now offered in several optician's shops, at home and abroad but sightings in the streets are still rather scarce. I noticed this during holidays in Scotland from which Nel and I just returned. Unfortunately there was no chance to do a couple of photo shoots in Scotland - our schedule was too tight and besides, an injury to my left hand gave me too much trouble. Next time....

Farishta 740
I call these Zenni´s granny glasses. The frame is reminiscent of the early 1990´s. The glasses were featured in three previous photo shoots done in 2010 and 2011. Farishta said that she liked them a lot and her sweet smile testifies to that.
Farishta 738
"Wow, these are strong glasses, Mr. Photographer. How do I look?"
"Surprised but lovely, dear Farishta, great job"
Farishta 737
Fine posing by Farishta in another great pair of cat eye glasses by Zenni, fitted with lenses of minus twelve, twice her own prescription. Note the nice bamboo structure of the arms.
Farishta 734 - 735
My collection only hosted two dozen Zenni glasses when Farishta posed for me in 2009 and in the summer of 2010. Now there are over a hundred pairs so there was plenty of choice for Farishta. The cat eye glasses shown here were featured in at least a dozen photo shoots. All models like this eccentric frame and so did Farishta. The lenses here are not the usual -8.00 but around Farishta's own prescription.
Farishta 732
Farishta showing the power rings in newly arrived Zenni glasses. It's always a surprise how the effect of the power rings in -8.00 lenses works in different frames. Size is definitely an influence but frame shape and thickness are unpredictable factors. Just like the preceding cat eye glasses, this pair does not give the impression of strong glasses.
Farishta 731
Farishta posing in another new arrival from Zenni. The frame shape is reminiscent of many glasses from the late 1960's and early 1970's when frames became larger and larger. By contrast, the lively colours are modern, albeit with a touch of the "marble structure" of the early 1990's.
Farishta 729
Another fine portrait of lovely Farishta in newly arrived cat eye glasses by Zenni. It was such a pleasure to work once more with Farishta. And as expressed in an email received from the UK, "She has lost none of her posing qualities". I could not agree more!
Farishta 728
These cat eye glasses were a new arrival at Zenni's so I ordered them straightaway, with Farishta in mind. She really liked these glasses when she saw them in the box. The more a model likes a certain pair of glasses, the better the results.
