A glorious "en face" portrait indeed. Bifocals are associated with grannies but they are sometimes prescribed for young ladies as well. The toll of modern communication devices held too close to the eyes constantly. Nowadays, bifocals are also believed to slow down the progression of high myopia. Having said that, I can only remember a handful of sightings. But this beautiful portrait of young Farishta clearly shows that no young lady should shiver from the thought having to wear bifocals!
