These nameless but stylish half rim glasses were sent to me by a friendly German lady called Barbara. The style is very reminiscent of the half rim glasses produced by Nylor around 1962 but the materials are different, indicating that the glasses are a remake. Over the past decades, several attempts were made to revive the cat eye style but all failed. Now it looks as if a new revival is under way. Several opticians have cat eye frames in their shop windows and although sightings are still rare, ladies in cat eye glasses can be seen in the streets again. Always a delight - this was the style that attracted me to ladies in glasses during my childhood. Posing in these half rim glasses was comfortable for Maria as the lenses are only a touch above her own prescription.
