Drop temple glasses first appeared on the market around 1975 but their heyday was in the 1980's. The style is liked by many models and it is to be hoped that one day the streets will be filled again with lovely ladies sporting drop temple glasses. The great attraction, of course, is that one of the eyes of the wearer is visible when seen "en profil". A disadvantage of large drop temple glasses is a lack of stability, especially when the lenses are strong, so the arms need to be adjusted with great care. This can't be done during a photo shoot but fortunately, Katie posed in two pairs with a mild prescription. My ex-wife had minus seven and she was often in fear that her giant Piave glasses might fall on the ground :).
