A pince-nez with a faulty nose piece has to be held in one hand to keep it steady so why not use both hands and try two pince-nez at the same time? When I suggested this to Leah, she zoomed in immediately. The pince-nez in her left hand has lenses of around +4 so they were probably used as readers. The pince-nez in Leah's right hand has -1.50 lenses so it was probably only used part time by its first owner. Note the size difference between the model's eyes.
