The diameter of the lenses in these rimless glasses is 55 millimeters, both horizontal and vertical. The Rx of the lens shown here by Clare is minus five and the thickness of the lens is eight millimeters. One way to hide the lens thickness is to have the sides faceted (photos 097 - 100) but the additional cost for that job was too high for many. The first owner of the glasses shown here chose for a cheaper alternative. The front half at the side of the lens is beveled under an angle of 45 degrees. The effect is less decorative than the facets but adequate.
