Jade 031
The retro era in frame design (1989 - 2019) was in my opinion an all time low since glasses became fashionable in the 1950's. It was just as if designers had spent all their talent during the golden era of the large frames. Only a handful of designers managed to come up with ideas that were original or at least funny. The glasses shown here to great effect by Jade meet both qualifications in glorious plenty. They were made in Italy but acquired in Germany where ladies tended to be more experimental in their frame choice during the two meager decades for frame design. The glasses were first featured in my photo shoot with mother Miriam and daughter Esther (150), followed in 2013 by two great models in Ireland (Leah 001, Colleen 019). Just like Jade, none of these models needed prescription glasses in everyday life.
