I like the element of disbelief in Nefeli's expression here, as if she just said "Did people really wear crazy glasses like this in the seventies?".
The correct general answer is: "Yes, they did, at least some of them".
To this it must be added that the same disbelief was on my face when I came across these Saphira glasses at the Waterlooplein flea market (Amsterdam) in the mid 1980's. The wear and tear on the frame indicated that the first owner of these glasses must have used them full time for many years. Whoever she was, the lady in question had a taste all of her own.
