I was working in the Montreux area in Switzerland during the summer of 1976 when the very first Christian Dior collection arrived in the opticians shops. The impact was immediate. Within weeks the streets looked different. Swiss ladies had always been on the conservative side with their frame choice but they succumbed to the new style. Needless to say, Dior glasses were quite expensive but that did not bothered the ladies. It was a feast. So many fantastic sightings wherever I went....
