It's always a good sign when music starts running in my head during a photo shoot or afterwards when a great portrait first appears on the PC screen. I remember this moment well. The music was written by the great poet and singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen, over forty years ago. He forgot a part of his lyrics in "Joan of Arc" but this next song was one of his highlights at a concert in Montreux in the summer of 1975.
"And I know from your eyes
and I know from your tiny little smile
that this shoot will be fine, will be fine, will be fine
for a while"
Being a man of wisdom and forgiveness, Leonard Cohen will probably not mind the slight adaptation of his chorus.
