Christian Dior took the stage by storm when they launched their very first collection of glasses in 1976. Every aspect of their frames was innovative - the bold shapes, the bright, basic colours, the remarkably short arms.... They were also the first to stamp their brand name "CD" on the arms of the glasses, advertising themselves loud and clear in the streets with each sighting of a beautiful lady sporting their revolutionary glasses. It's safe to say that Christian Dior changed the streets, especially in Switzerland where many ladies could afford the high price of their frames.
Technical note: this portrait and the previous photo were deliberately edited with Michael Orton's effect to highlight the bright colours of the frame.
