Farishta 833

Here Farishta is showing the incredible thickness of the lenses in the Sover glasses. High index lenses had not arrived yet. Both lenses are +7 (sphere and cylinder combined) and the frame is large as was the custom of the time. The lenses are no less than 14 millimeters thick at the center, over half an inch. Farishta was very obliging when I requested a few "zoom in" captures to demonstrate the lens thickness and she clearly found it an amusing experience. That's the spirit!
