Iris 061
In the Netherlands, the retro era put an abrupt end to the golden days of the large frames. The change started in 1988 and within a year the large frames had effectively disappeared form the shops. The new glasses were quite small and non-descriptive. It took twenty years before the arrival of the black hipster glasses and better times. In Germany, things were a bit better during the 1990's and 2000's. The retro wave set in a few years later and some of the retro glasses in Germany were striking or at least funny. Being a young lady with fine taste, Iris concentrated on the large frames of the 1970's and 1980's. However, she made an exception for this asymmetrical half rim pair from the closing years of the previous Millennium. This photo was edited in black and white with additional contrast to mark the difference with the previous and following glasses shown by Iris.
