A photo shoot in vintage prescription glasses would not be complete without Silhouette glasses and here Iris is showing an absolute bestseller made exactly thirty years ago. My collection hosts no less than eight examples of this frame. The glasses came in at least three different colors of which the transparent version was the most popular. Like many other brands, Silhouette made a gradual change from robust frames in the 1970's to more refined, thinner frames in the 1980's. The new style was especially suitable for mild prescriptions. By the arrival of the 1980's, many ladies with higher prescriptions had switched to contact lenses. Glasses were regarded a positive choice made by their owners.
