Lovely Maria posing in one of the gems from my collection. The glasses are called "Venus" and quite deservedly so. The color combination in the frame is nice but it's the unusual shape that really makes these glasses shine. Small wonder that this pair has been a favorite among models ever since the start of the project, five years ago.
"Venus" was acquired for the princely price of two guilders (less than one Euro) at the inexhaustible "Waterlooplein" flea market during the second half of the 1980's. The lenses are in poor condition, indicating that the first owner of the glasses used them for several years.
When Maria selected the glasses, "Venus" caught her fancy straightaway because of the perfect match with the shape of her eyes.

(chorus of the USA number one hit "Venus" by pop group Shocking Blue from the Hague. The composer of that song went on early retirement in his mid thirties, living from the royalties of that famous song)
