Maria 018
My life partner Nel had to attend a congress in Sweden and she invited me to make the weekend trip with her. Neither of us had been to Sweden before so I made myself an alternative spouse program which included a couple of photo shoots in the Malmö area. Seeking locations for the shoots was facilitated by fine weather so the tourist aspect was perfect. Lund has been a university city since 1666 and I discovered its beautiful location during a reconnaissance trip by bike. Lundagard Park is a quiet place, only a ten minute walk from the central station and its crowd of beggars. The park clearly offered enough potential for the up coming photo shoot with Maria. Eventually, it was her companion Andrej who kindly suggested that Kongshuset (the King's House) might be the best location in the park because of the beautiful autumn leaves on its walls. Built between 1578 and 1584 under the Danish king Frederick II, Kongshuset was later called called Gamla Bibliotheket (the Old Library) and it now houses the university department of Philosophy. It was an ideal spot for the photo shoot and here Maria is showing the perfect blend between the orange Metzler glasses and the autumn leaves in the background.
