Katie 070
Christian Dior glasses took the stage by storm in 1976. Everything about them was completely new and above all, different but in a consistent way. One could always recognize a Dior as a Dior, even from the far end of the street. I was working in Switzerland when the Dior craze broke out. My life partner Mia (later the mother of my daughter) was with me. A year before, we had bought her a giant pair of drop temple glasses but as explained before, these were not very stable because of the weight of the lenses, Rx -7. We were penniless students but I suggested that we'd get her one of those fantastic Christian Dior glasses. She chose a green pair but did not wear it often as she thought that she was a bit young for the style. The Dior glasses shown here by Katie were made in the 1980's and they are extraordinary, even to the high Dior standards. The frame shape is most unusual indeed.
