Leah 101

Rodenstock often gave a girl's name to their frame series and around 1960 the name was Tanja. These glasses were very popular and I remember umpteen sightings of girls and ladies in Tanja glasses. Quite special is the reminiscence of two sisters in their mid teens who took the same bus to school. They looked almost identical and even their Tanja glasses had identical frames. However, the lenses told a different story. One sister was really longsighted and her eyes looked even bigger than Leah's eyes here behind +6 lenses. The other sister was extremely shortsighted and her glasses were fitted with myodisc lenses. I always wondered how two sisters (who were perhaps even twins) could develop such an extreme contrast in their eyesight.
