These cat eye glasses by Minerva were among the first pairs acquired when I started collecting in my early student days, over forty years ago. My favourite hunting ground was the "Waterlooplein" flea market in my native Amsterdam. I clearly remember that this Minerva frame was quite popular around 1960. Many girls and women sported these or very similar glasses in the streets of my city. The glasses seemed to suit them all and the same goes for contemporary models who pose in them. A classic pair!
Note the frame material. This was only invented around 1960 and it survived the transition from the cat eye era to the small, compact glasses of the mid 1960's.
